The Vedic Vista Directory is a South African based web directory of Vedic related contacts and resources. The directory is maintained by editors who evaluate entries for inclusion in the directory. They are our experts, and all submissions are subject to editor evaluation.

We care a great deal about the quality of this directory and thus as a service to our users along with our overall vision for the project we pride ourselves on being highly selective. We don't accept all entries for submission, so please don't take it personally should your entry not be accepted. Our goal is to make the directory as useful as possible for our users, not to have a large directory of irrelevant entries or simply serve as a promotional tool for the entities listed.

To keep the Vedic Vista Directory running smoothly and to assist us in exercising our editorial discretion, we have set up policies for submitting entries for our consideration. We may reject, delete, or edit submissions that violate these policies or that we otherwise believe, in our sole discretion, should not be included in the directory. We may also reject, delete, or block other entries that we believe to be associated with a user who has violated these policies.

You should take a few moments to understand these policies and the steps to submit an entry before you begin.  Failure to understand and follow these instructions generally will result in the rejection of a submission.

 

Step One

Determine whether an entry is appropriate for submission to the Vedic Vista Directory:

• All submissions must be in English.  Non-English submissions will be rejected.
• Only Vedic related entries will be accepted.
• You may submit your entry to up to 3 relevant categories.
• Having a website for your service/product would be beneficial but not obligatory.
• Do not disguise your entry and submit the same entry more than once.
• The title should be no more than 100 characters in length.
• The description should be no more than 1500 characters in length.
• Only submit your homepage address for the website URL  - do not submit sub-folders.
• Do not submit any site with a website address that redirects to another address.
• Do not submit a website address that is "under construction."
• Inappropriate CAPITALISATION of words is not allowed.
• Submissions via email are not accepted.
• In the Description area DO NOT Include owner name, email address, phone number, keyword or company address.
• Your submission will be reviewed and added in to our database within 1-2 weeks.
• A Free Submission does not guarantee your websites inclusion in our database.

Terms of Agreement:

Our editors have the right to accept or reject any entry submitted.
Our editors may alter the title and/or description or your entry.
Our editors may place your entry in the category that they believe most relevant.
We reserve the right to change, subtract or add to these rules at any time with no notice given.

Step Two

Do a quick search in the directory at www.vedicvista.co.za/directory to be sure your entry isn't already listed. This saves everyone time.

Step Three

Identify 1-3 relevant categories for your entry. The Vedic Vista Directory has an wide array of categories to choose from. You should submit an entry only to the most relevant categories. Entries submitted to inappropriate or unrelated categories may be rejected from such categories.
Should you feel that there is not a well suited category present for your entry, but feel that it is still appropriate, then please select the ‘Undefined’ category and we will create an appropriate category for your listing, should we feel it appropriate to do so

Step Four

Once you've selected the best categories for your entry then click "Add Entry." Fill in all the required fields in the form carefully.  Descriptions of your service/product/website should describe as such both concisely and accurately.  They should not be promotional in nature. Submitting a promotional description rather than an objective, well written description may significantly delay your submission from being listed or prevent your submission from being listed at all.

Procedure After Your Site is Submitted

A Vedic Vista editor will review your entry to determine whether to include it in the directory. Depending on factors such as the volume of submissions to the directory, it may take 1-2 weeks before your submission is reviewed. Please only submit to the Vedic Vista Directory once. Again, multiple submissions of the same or related entries may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated submissions.  Disguising your entry and submitting more than once is not permitted.

Updating Your Submission

Once a submission has been accepted for inclusion in the directory and you later wish to update it then you may go to an entry in a category where it is listed and update your listing by clicking the "Edit" button. Remember that this option will only be available if you are logged into the website. Please note that all updates to an existing submission are also moderated and are subject to the same rules as mentioned herein.

Editorial Discretion

Please recognise that making the Vedic Vista Directory a useful resource requires us to exercise broad editorial discretion in determining the content and structure of the directory. That discretion extends (but is not limited) to what entries to include, where in the directory entries are placed, and the content of the title and description of the entries. In addition, an entry placement in the directory is subject to change or deletion at any time at our sole discretion. You should not rely on any aspect of an entry inclusion in the directory.  Please understand that an editor's exercise of discretion may not always treat all submissions equally. You may not always agree with our choices, but we hope you recognise that we do our best to make fair and reasonable decisions.
