Ayurshakti is an Ayurvedic Wellness Centre, based at No. 9 Nimmo Road, Morningside, Durban, South Africa.
As the name suggests, we are an Ayurvedic Wellness Centre, with the aim of providing optimum treatments for our clients.
We provide Consultations, which are done by a qualified Ayurvedic Doctor, and a wide array of treatments.

What is Ayurveda


Ayurveda is a system of medicine that originated in India and dates back over 5000 years. Ayurveda includes a comprehensive study of anatomy,physiology, pathology, diagnostic methods, and treatment strategies, which is recognized by the World Health Organization as an effective, traditional health science. Ayurvedic physicians focus on the overall health of an individual through a holistic evaluation that centers on the body, mind, and spirit. Once the individual's overall "constitution" and nature of disease is determined, a specific treatment plan is designed to guide the person back to a state of harmony. Ayurvedic medicine utilizes practices such as yoga, exercise, meditation, massage, dietary changes, herbal tonics, and herbal sweat baths.

Shirodhara
A massage of the neck, shoulders, arms, back, lower back and feet. A continuous stream of warm medicated oil is poured on the forehead as a therapy to relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

Svedana - steam therapy
Herbal steam therapy usually concludes a Full Body Massage.
The steam opens the pores and the Ayurvedic herbs and oils seep in and heal, nourish and revatilize.
Only Ayurvedic Centre in South Africa to offer this vital steam / detox procedure.

Abhyanga - Full Body Ayurvedic Massage
The full body ayurvedic massage includes head and feet. Using warm herbal oils, the massage is firstly done with hands and then repeated with heat bags containing ayurvedic herbs, grains, powders and salts to detox, improve blood circulation, relieve pain etc.
